question about teambuilder...fightsongs

so when you make a team and import them...do they just get assigned a random fightsong? or are there more options for the team once they are uploaded in to the game?

I think you're just supposed to use the Custom Sound feature to give your team a fight song. I'm not sure about that though.

thats what i assume too. that would make sense anyway.

Fight songs are tied to the team name. If your team has a different name from a real school (most likely), you will get generic fight songs.

U mean if im the trojans ill get USC's fight songs? or only if im Southern California?

Well, that's good news for the historical teams and "uniform change" teams.

The way it works is the game reads in the team name/nickname string. It runs it through the list which signs it an ID (for example "AkronZips = 1"). If it cannot find a match, it assigns it an invalid ID which plays a default generic package.

So if you name a team EXACTLY as it appears in game, you will get fight songs, commentary, chants, and rousers for the real team. So don't name a team 94 Florida Gators, that won't match. You have to call them Florida Gators.

We actually found a bug late in the dev cycle. We weren't checking ArkonZips... just Akron. So if you named a team the Akron Whalers, Brad Nessler would call you the Akron Zips!

Not hard to see where this is going. Soon, rosters wont be the only thing we'll have to edit ourselves. The days of this game being a replica of college football are numbered. We are looking at another title where everything is customizable and generic because of rights and legal issues. I believe the writing is on the wall!
