But if competition breeds better games then why has NBA Live been inferior to NBA 2KX for the past 6+ years, and why is MLB: The Show wiping the floor with MLB 2K?

I honestly think that this whole "if there was competition" argument was started by some diehard 2K fans once the NFL put up the exclusive license for auction and 2K lost. It makes sense to say that competition forces results in the video gaming industry...but if you open your eyes and just look at what's in front of you that's not always the case.

Madden just took a huge leap forward with no competiton...and like I said, Live and MLB 2K are wayyyyyyyy behind their comp.
