Re: RTG mode as WR

I agree, the presentation is great but there are some questionable aspects in the RTG gameplay. I feel like Erin/Kirk are actually talking about my player and when they show screen shots, it all makes it feel authentic. Props there.

I chose a running back and went to Ohio State where I'm a starter in my sophomore season. There needs to be some way that the player can complain to the coach about not getting the ball enough or not getting enough playing time. That would be interesting although I'm not quite sure how often that happens in the NCAA.

Re: RTG mode as WR

I'm currently running a QB through RTG with University of South Carolina. Spurrier's plays are more short passes and running, but all I seem to do is run option plays, hand off to the fullback, and do long passes on 2nd and 10.

Re: RTG mode as WR

This mode is horrid for WR. This was posted in another thread, but they locked it telling people to post in the bug thread. Doing that to threads make stuff almost impossible to fine in that thread once it gets so big. Search doesn't help if everyone doesn't use the same format.

The play calling sucks when you are WR. They will run and run and run. I was playing on the UTES too, so it's shouldn't have been like that. Even on 3rd and long they would run it. The only time it seemed to get any better, and it could have been a fluke, is when I went to practice every day that week.

The worst part is when they do run a pass play, the stupid QB passes the ball before you can even make the break on your route almost 80% of the time.

RB was a little better, but it ended up the same situation eventually. They would just take you out of the game with play calling.

The funnest position so far is a option QB. I'm having a blast with it, but you get to change the play if you don't like it that way. They really did RTG a disservice this year. It was pretty good as a WR last year, but this year it's close to unplayable, and it's defiantly not fun.

Oh and practice in not balanced for all positions. You can move up fast as WR in practice, but RB absolutely sucks to move up in. I had to lower the difficulty to move up. 20+ yards for 2 points on a rush is BS. You have to hope they eventually pass to you so you can get 2 points.

Re: RTG mode as WR

I am getting ready to pull my hair out. Can anyone tell me how to keep named rosters all the way through to college. I have tried everything, read everything on this forum about how to maybe fix it. Starting two different times, happened both times. I even tried to sim through HS several times, it just appears to be random. Sometimes they are named, sometimes not. I like the new mode, but this is killing me....

Thanks...

Re: RTG mode as WR

I started as a WR as well, confused about how to be a 5 star prospect though?

I was at 4 stars headed into the championship game, in which I had 8 catches for 120 yards or so and no TDs. Even without the TDs anyone would say that's a good game, but my player didn't improve to 5 stars?

I can go wherever I want as a 7th string WR but won't my potential overall be lower as a 4 star? Anyways the mode is fun enough. Yeah there are some problems with it, but I like playing as a WR because when I play dynasty mode there isn't much difference between calling a run play or playing a RTG running back. Same reason I don't want to be a QB. Using a WR actually gives you a different experience.

If it gets frustrating enough I may create a scrambling QB though
