I've messed with the auto subs, he's still #1 on the depth chart. Hell last game, my 3rd string RB played the whole 4th and I was only up 2 scores. Any ideas?

I've had the same problem and I just read that it is a glitch with auto subs so basically if you change the auto subs settings then your starter never returns.

Yeah its the auto subs. If you search the forums theres fix for this. For HB i think its 79/80. From what I remember if your sub in is at 85, then the starter wont get back in after a certain point.
