Menus are too friggin slow

The menu lag after installing to HD seems to be a little better, but it is still disappointingly slow. One of the problems is that after you release the trigger to release the menu once, you have to wait half a second before you can press the trigger to bring the menu up again. For example if there is just one thing you want to see, or if you release the menu in the wrong place, you will want to bring it back up, but can't right away. And since you get used to a delay in bringing up the menu under normal circumstances, you don't even realize that the menu is not coming up for even longer. Then when you realize it you have to release the trigger and press it again... this interrupt really disrupts the whole flow of what you're trying to do.

I turned off the Dynasty ticker, but the EA/ESPN ticker is still there, and I don't see a way to turn it off. Is there a way to turn off the EA/ESPN ticker?
