Cant play against a friend online?

I am having problems when I try to play one of my friends online. I have been trying to go through the online lobby- create session- and when we go to play the game, whoever created the session gets kicked out. their game freezes and you have to reset. it just says "waiting for other player" at the bottom and the other player will already be in the game. anyone know why this is? im sure im doing something wrong but ive tried several times with the same results.

ok so far no replies.. does anyone else have this problem? im pretty sure it has nothing to do with the system since it has happened with 3 other friends so far, and it boots out whoever created the game. Also, both people end up getting the 50% penalty on their next game. any help would be appreciated, if not to fix this problem then another route to play against specific users?

Never seen this issue.

But is there a reason to bump a thread after only 2 hours? Give it a day or so at least before a bump.
