It makes practices and spring game mean something. Also you would have to hire a coaching staff to help aid you on evaluating your talent. That would make the game so much more interesting and fun.
The problem with that is this is a videogame. There are somethings you can do as a coach IRL that you cant represent in a game.

This is exactly what I am talking about! No overall, i would even say no individual ratings. You wanna know which QB can throw the deep ball, practice/scrimmage. You dont need a number to know which HB/FB runs with power. A 6'1" 230 lb back with bout 20 reps on da bench is not gonna be easy to bring down!

I'm sorry my man, I can't agree with this. I bet back in the 80's and the very beginnings of video games i bet they thought there was no way to make a college football video game and allow a player to go 60 seasons with recruiting and actual bowl games and then turn around and do it online.

Times are different. It can be done.

Besides most people are lazy or short on time. This would be asking alot for people who may not have all day.

Well I'm sure you could simulate all this, go straight to the season, and let the computer do it for you.

I think we all know how that would turn out.

Or bring back the spring game, but instead of progressing players have it show attributes.

IMO I just dont think its worth the effort to add this feature! I dont see it adding enough fun or realism to devote the resources to get this done right.
