Ea put these recruits in there because sometimes you wouldnt get all the players you needed to fill your team and by the time offseason recruiting came, all the good players were already gone. I'm indifferent about the mystery recruits.

What I would like to see is universities in the game having a scout level, which determines how accurately the prospects rankings would be, have some low level prospects be studs when they come to school, and some top guys, be busts.

Re: Please get rid of the offseason hidden recruits, completely unrealistic

couple of guys i played with in highscool over 10 years ago came out of no where. they werent highly recruited or anything but they did get scholarships based on how they played their senior year of hs ball. one of them is playing in the NFL right now.

you guys have to understand that in the HS years, kids can grow pretty fast physically to match their talent, so its not unlikely to see a player go from nothing to highly recruited in one season, especially since not everyone plays at a big high school.

Didn't they when they first start inseason recruiting have players stock go up/down based on performance and other factors in previous year editions on NCAA Football?

I'd have to agree with the original OP in how it's incredibly unrealistic. To make it a little more realistic, what they could do is not "hide" those select top recruits, but instead have an icon or something that says they're stretching out their recruitment and waiting until signing week or the offseason to commit.

That's not to say that they may not commit during the regular season, but it's a much higher risk to recruit them more during the season as they would like to extend the process to the end. Coaches would have to choose what route they want to take with these recruits--aggressive anyways, or wait and see.

Yeah just include them in the regular list of players, but have them say "I'm not willing to discuss my future at this time" or something to that effect, and let people recruit them in the offseason. But the entire class should be viewable the entire year.

IMO it's real simple...allow all of the recruits to be able to be recruited from the beginning; but have those recruits who WILL NOT sign until the offseason(NSD). They can easily add to recruit mode by giving you the angle to push for a verbal commit early. The the recruit has the option to accept and commit on the spot, decline your scholarship offer, or wait until Signing Day to commit somewhere.

Get rid of this unrealistic option it makes recruitng even easier and waters down the 5 star talent.
since when are video games realistic. get over it. you can't have everything.

Not all of them, just one or two in a class or so. Then have some of the 3 stars that jump up to 5 stars end up really being 3 stars who played over their head, while others are legit 5 stars.
This sounds like a great idea.
