Re: NCAA Football 09

NCAA Football 2009 on PS2 is a much better game than 2008 (PS2) because of the probation glitches and horrible pursuit angles in 2008. However 2004 and 2006 are still better than 2009. NCAA Football 2010 is the same game as 2009, only with messed up rosters and I think some other stuff got messed up too.

I haven't played any of the games for 09 or 10. However, I've read from many different sources that the last gen games are still a ways ahead of the PS3 and 360. Reasons for this are the PS3 and 360 games run on a new engine, and they have not been able to iron all the bugs out yet.

Also, the next gen games are missing many features that the last gen has. Such as being able to customize and create playbooks.

Again, I haven't played any of the games in a while but reading stuff like all of the above made me purchase NCAA 09 for PS2. It's currently in the mail.

I'm still playing 09 on 360 and am rather enjoying myself. I'm stuck in between difficulties now because the AI Passing is ridiculous. Usually, I'm lucky if I force 2 or 3 incomplete passes a game. And the AI Pass D can be screwy at times as well. CBs warping around receivers for pick.

Some animations are stupid though. I was picked off by the Safety, and he managed to stiff arm my Guard and flip him right over... lmao.

I still do recommend it though.

I have played the heck out of 08,09, and 10 on ps3. 10 is my fav, and i dont really remember 08.

The only thing whatsoever that i liked about 09 was that it was easier to run from the shotgun and there was no run commit. Those 2 things killed the spread in 10. Forced me to change the way i play offensively.

Re: NCAA Football 09

For $10, you really can't go wrong. Sure, it has some issues as mentioned above, but at the end of the day, the game TO ME, is still fun to play.

I've been using AuburnAlumni's Varsity sliders and the game plays very well for me at that level. You see more animations and the CPU puts up a good challenge (I went 8-5 my first year at Washington).

I also went through and edited all of the Team Aggression and Run/Pass Ratios for each team and that has really helped with the CPU playcalling. I see far less QB Choice/Read plays than before, and that's good news. Screen passes are still there, but they aren't as prevalent and I do ocassionally see the CPU throw the ball deep.

I have 09 for the PS2 as well and I have to say, the 360 version is better. I don't know what it is about the PS2 version but I just can't get into it. Weird because I still play Madden 09 on the PS2 and really enjoy that game.

I think the jump-the-snap feature in the PS2 version really wreaks havoc with the blocking on both sides. Pass protection is horrible, even with the slider turned all the way up and the same holds true for run blocking. The game can also turn into a turnover-fest; I've seen over 10 fumbles in a game (total from both teams) and there's a ton of INT's as well, even with the slider at zero.

I think I'm going to back to 04 or 06 for the PS2 for my college-gaming needs.
