Nebraska starts big 10 play in 2011

So they should have that option in the game for this year. It's not going to be in 3 or 4 years when they start playing in the conference like many on here thought.

source? And that is a completely unrealistic expectation for them to put it in the game this year, as close as it is to going gold when this is breaking.

Also if you are that worried about it, and that is the only change you want, you can do it by putting the big 10 plus Nebraska in the Big XII slots and the remaining teams in the Big 10 slots

Unfortunately it's just too late to put in...I guess they really don't want to come down to Austin to get their arse handed to them again. If you can't beat 'em, run like hell to another conference.

Nebraska's chancellor just said it in the press conference announcing their application into the Big 10. There's no physical source yet like an article or a video, but he and Tom Osbourne said they would begin academically immediately and atheltically in 2011. But, they said there was still a lot of negotiations to take place, so things could definitely change.

Yeah, I was really surprised when I heard it too. Everyone thought it was gonna be 2012, and it still could be, but they want it to be 2011 if possible. It's crazy because that's gonna cost a lot more in a buyout of their contract with the Big 12. I'm really excited for it as a Husker fan, and a potential student in the next few years after I get my Bachelors degree finished.

This is all if the Big Ten accepts the application, which I think they will.

But I think this would be cool. I would love to have the option to move Nebraska into the Big Ten after the 2010 season...
