Should "Proximity to Home" hold more weight?

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...20/recruiting/

Last year (2009) SI writer Andy Staples analyzed recruiting in college football. Amoung one of the things that he found out is that most players in college stayed close to home. He had an interesting spreadsheet that showed that most programs got the majority (50%+) of their talent from a local base. The below chart was taken from the article. It list teams wins from 2004-2008 and the breakdown of "local" talent on those teams.

My point behind this is I kind of feel like when recruiting in the NCAA series the proximity to home should be at the very least rank as a "High" or "Very High" for the majority of recruits.

Thoughts?

I would like it. But I also play with teams with the best in-state talent (FL and Cali)

Maybe for teams located in states in which the high school talent pool is very deep.

This is where player personality needs to come into effect. It is really hit or miss with most recruits.

Yes. In a state like Nebraska, most of the good kids stay at home, becuase most grow up rooting for NU.

It was in one of the blogs. This will play a much bigger role.

eh, not for everyone really. I mean, if it were me, I wouldn't care if I had to go to Alaska to play. in fact I'd rather go out of state than in
