Excellent point. This is one thing that I've always felt needs to be added--defenders should pause from time to time. In real life, there are lots of moments right before a collision where the ballcarrier stops, the defender stops, and there's this split second where they both decide which direction to commit to. Like you said, you can't do that on the game because the defenders don't have to slow down to adjust.

Re: Locomotion - Thoughts on Momentum

Does anyone know if the strafe button works in the demo? I hit L2 and it doesn't seem to do anything to help slow me down when I'm on defense.

Theres a point when this becomes too realistic and simply not very fun. Luckily they have not crossed that line yet.

That said, I think movement feels a bit light and "airy." I also think the demo lacks explosiveness when you hit the sprint button -- I like to use speedsters to set up slower defenders and blow past them with the sprint button, but I'm not having much luck with that in the demo.

(I've also experimented with Auto Sprint turned on and off in the demo.)

The other problem is that defenders still don't truly react to cuts and plants. If a ballcarrier is running full speed and suddenly plants and changes direction, most of the time defenders have to slow down and adjust -- in NCAA if you slow down with a ballcarrier you just get steamrolled.

+100 I've been saying this for a week. Sprint doesn't work at all when you turn off auto sprint. Also when you turn off Auto strafe and turn on auto sprint it doesn't work. There is no difference in just holding L3 up and L3+R2.

Mabey its just me...At least i would like to see more of a Sprint Animation(A Lean or more Powerful Stride)

I don't see much of a difference with the turbo button. Can't get the strafe to work either. Any chance these features were turned off for the demo?

Re: Locomotion - Thoughts on Momentum

it's a huge improvement, really changes the way the game plays. EA is right on with making it.

that being said, i think this is one area they may be able to "tune". i'd like to feel it just a tad bit more.

however, with the game speed adjustment, i might be able to slow the game down enough to get what i want out of it anyhow.
