I am having an unbelievable time playing the game this year. Have any of you had any success stopping the option play, specifically against Ohio State. If so, would you be so kind as to share your tips for success. Thanks so much in advance!

I haven't played yet, but last year make your defense focus on the man receiving the pitch and as a user just go for the QB.

The title of your thread is a bit of a misnomer because stopping the option is actually very easy this year, something I've frustrated about a little.

What you're talking about is the Read Option. This requires you to play the C-D gaps heavily. Leave OLB close to the line of scrimmage just outside the DE's. Of course this opens you up to other attacks, but you have to have guys on the perimeter that are in the face of the QB and the HB from opposite sides.

I played a guy online who used the option, and i put my DL into spread and qb contain or whatever it is (up on left and up on right analog). It helped a lot because my ends would pick up his rb and then my tackles would get to the QB. I was running a 4-2-5
