Wow, shocking NCAA test results

So someone posted a 40 time to speed rating chart which I think came from Madden producers last year. I have been rerating players all afternoon and charting 40 times with a hand timer. Granted, I did my chart on fast speed which is what I like to play at. I was shocked to say the least. The times did not change from varsity to all-american (didn't try heisman). Here are results:

99 ACC on all tested (tried it on 75, 50, 25, 0) and there was no change whatsoever to 40 time, so it has no effect on sprinting (also tested in 10 yards from line, and once again no effect). I will list notables below

99 Speed - 3.4 seconds
98 - 3.5
97 - 3.52
72 speed - 4.25
69 speed - 4.35
68 - 4.4
39 - 5.2
34 5.4

Now, the times did increase on Normal by about 3 tenths of a second across the board. But, I now alot of people are playing on slow, so a 99 on slow was 3.7 seconds, too. That puts a 4.4 at around a 76 speed. The only level even lose to true speed ratings is very slow. Speeds were very lose to that madden chart. Thought you guys might be interested in this and I think this belongs on a main board, but I guess it could be moved to sliders, even though it is ratings related. Also, it did not matter what position, or height/weight, times didn't change at all.

Thus edit out almost every player with a 99 speed rating and play on slow speed sliders.

How did you go about testing the 40 times?

He said he hand timed them. Probably lined up in practice, handed the ball off, got to a starting point and took off. Just my guess.

Re: Wow, shocking NCAA test results

Im assuming that is what he did, but with a ball carrier who is 94spd 96acc starting from the 40 going in I can't beat a 4.8 on slow speed. His numbers look right if you had a running start maybe, but from a standstill on the 40 with the ball I can't beat a 4.8

edit: just tried with a running start and got a 3.8.
