Question on dual stick trucking controls.

For the most part I have trucking figured out, lean forward and point in the direction you want to truck. Thing is, I can't figure out which way I should be leaning because it always puts the opposite shoulder down.

say a defender is coming toward me from the front-right. I lean forward, but do I push the stick in the opposite direction of where the defender is coming from or aim straight for him? I'm thinking opposite direction but it hasn't always worked out that way.

Opposite direction.

Up left, you will dip your right shoulder and shield the ball towards the left.

Up right you will dip your left shoulder and shield the ball towards the right.
