Packages or Situational Substitutions?

Is it possible in NCAA to make situational substitutions from the play select screen? In Madden, and I believe in NCAA of year's past, you could substitute a player quickly from the play call screen... I found it pretty helpful to make sure that my best back was on the field down near the goal line (rather than the situation that usually happens: your best back does all the work getting you down the field then has to be substituted for fatique within the 10 yard line... right when you really need him).

I think I saw the question asked... "In college you use packages," but I don't really get that? Do I set formation subs and then play from those formations when I want a specific player on the field? An issue with this is that I've decided to use the "Coaches" play call screen because I think it gives me a more realistic approach to the game... but this limits how I can and can't use players, without situation substitutions.

Any advice?

I've run into the same thing. I liked being able to sub in/out packages even from the "Coach's Choice" screen.
