I just saw a player commit to TCU (over my USC mind you) but they never even offered him a scholarship

I have seen that as well. I haven't gotten to a new season yet, but when I do I am going to see if the guys decided to walk on. Possibly they are finally allowing players to commit to walk on at a place instead of having to get a scholarship.

TCU probably just offered that week and he committed on the spot. You wouldn't be able to tell the CPU recruiting actions don't happen until you advance to the next week.

Happend in my dynasty quite a few times already. Mostly late in the year as I was moving up the list of a recruit who had no offers (trying to snag a few players at positions I whiffed on early in the season), suddenly the next week as I was beginning to make headway they signed with someone else.

Think Old and Pull are right on this one. Makes sense I guess. I mean maybe someone decided they didn't want a scholarship full ride from BC and they would just take their chances walking on at Uconn...

Weirdest thing I've seen is when a player has "Soft commit" status for several weeks to his #1 school but hasn't received an offer from it! I'm #2 on his board 1 point behind and have offered him a scholarship. Seems weird, has happened a couple of times
