Boy my cajun wife can cook it up too!!! Living in Central Texas we missed crawfish or mud bugs as some call them, so much I went out and bought a giant pot and burner and threw my own crawfish boil. It was awesome. Everyone loved it.

Here's a question for you cajuns out there... I want to see if ALL cajun grandma's are like this...

It seems like every grandmother I visited ( I dated a lot of cajun girls... once you go there it's all you want ) would feed you and feed you. You could just be dropping by for a sec and they would put food in front of you. GOOD food too. I loved it. So are they all like that?

You haven't lived in rural Ohio have you? I don't want to start a "who's fatter" discussion, but I've lived most of my life in rural Ohio, and it isn't pretty,

Both of my grandmothers are like that... one of them lives in northwestern Louisiana, and not at all Cajun. And the other one has lived in Iowa her entire life.

Interesting though... my mom is a University of Arkansas graduate, and my aunt (on my mom's side) is an LSU graduate. My mom is the older sister and has turned my grandma into more of an Arkansas fan than LSU.

True. True. I've been here for 2 and a half years now and I had a girlfriend with the first 2-3 months of moving here.

This is true too. I gained about 40-50 pounds with 6 months of dating my gf. From 180 up to 230. Darn craw-fish boils, creole's, etouffee, etc. got the best of me.

Another thing I didn't know before I moved here is what a Roux was. Louisianians make a Roux for everything! Literally..

I live in Washington Parish guess you could say I'm a Country Boy with Country slang. Once working with a guy in Mandeville, that did alot of work in New Orleans and everywhere I went in New Orleans they got a kick out of the way I talked ( "Were u from suga, they would ask? you talk funny.") I would reply, I talk funny, you people talk funny to me.

if you're north of I 10,you can't cook worth ****.

Yankees are anything north of Marksville

Bridges are a reference tool for location (They live out there by the Sunshine)

The Castle has to be respected

The War Memorial at LSU isn't hollow

Frats still exist in the tunnels.

There's a reason it's called "Lake Chuck"

I love cultural references.
