Zone Read/ Option

The option seems to still be broken. Only one player commits to the qb/rb. If i keep it with my qb i get destroyed for negative yards. If i give it i still get stuffed just not nearly as much. Is anyone else having this problem and if not how do you run the zone read?

On the keep, don't freak out when the DE comes unblocked: just keep running where the arrow tells you, and oftentimes he'll bite on the play and follow the RB. Granted, he'll light you up other times, but the play isn't "broken" or anything.

On the give, it's not much different than a regular sweep or off-tackle play: just try to get that initial 2-4 yards and work from there.

I know that the DE bites im talking about line backers and safetys who dont bite and come rushing in. I look at the replay and the second the ball comes out of the fake to the rb the lb's and db's all key in on the QB

That's when you bend them over with a PA Bomb or Deep Post my friend.

This works occasionally but the CPU seems to know if its a run or pass

I think the cpu is really tuff. Now I'm not claiming I now the computer knows the play. But it seems like it. It also seems like if I do bad at first in the game, say 1st half, the computer lets me come back. This is what discourges me about playing against the computer but I'm not knocking it. I do a online dynasty. But I would rather play a human. The option is real tuff for me to do but I think the fact is doesent work is because I play with syracuse. I have to try new teams. But the option doesent work for me and I here you guys say try new things and I'm gonna try tonight when I get the chance. Still don't think I'll be good at it with a crappy team. That is obvious, but if I can't do it with a option team then either I just suck or I am not doing it right. I probably just suck. WHEN IS NCAA BASKETBALL COMING OUT? lol 5 years haha

I've had pretty decent success with the read option.

I think it all depends on what you have been running to setup the play.

I do a lot of running out of the pistol and after a few runs and a couple of passes, it sets up the read option pretty well.

I've never broken it for a long yardage play, but I have used it to pick up about 13 yards before I get taken down.

It's all about the setup and how you read the D-Line when you go to run it.

I've also had success. Does it work all the time? of course not but it is doable
