Rusty LaRue threw over 70 passes in a game when he was the QB at Wake. I believe he holds the record for pass attempts in a single game for a Division I-A QB. Maybe it's Brees though.

Common? Heck no. It can/does happen though.

I think the last time a TTU QB threw 70+ attempts in a single game was in 2007 with Graham Harrell, and 4 other games he had 60+ attempts. he had 713 attempts for the entire season that year.

Overall there´s a problem with how the game sims downs though. Just go into super-sim and see for yourself, at times it takes like 5 seconds between 2 non-first-down running plays to take place.
The number of play by both teams in (super)sim (haven´t paid much attention yet to simmed games around the league) is way too high.

In 2003, B.J. Symons went 44-64 for 661 yards and 6 TDs against Ole Miss. (An Ole Miss team that went 7-1 in the SEC too.)

I didn't know if that was your own dynasty or not. If Baylor was human controlled I can find it easy to see how he won... w/ their QB and a lot of running, I'll bet.
