0 points from a scholarship offer?

I just offered a guy that I'm first on his board, been working him for 3 weeks now. I got absolutely no points from the scholarship offer. He said, "I have to be honest with you coach. It's gonna take a lot for your school to get my commitment." This is the first time this has ever happened to me. Has this occurred to anyone else? And if so is there a specific reason? Does he just hate my school? Should I even continue pursuing him?

I've had this happen when I've gone after "Hail Mary" recruits, people where I wasn't even on the list or down a the bottom. Never seen it happen when I was first.

Maybe the player hates your schools cafeteria food?

Are you sure you didn't offer him a scholarship earlier then remove him from your board? I saw this in my offline dynasty where I offered a scholly to a guy then decided to cut down my board so i removed him which took the offer away. Later in the season I added him again since i missed on my other recruits, when I offered I got a 0 and was like wtf then i realized i had already received the points. Its good so people cant cheese and keep getting scholly points over & over.

Maybe his family is so rich that he scoffed at your scholarship.

Yeah, that happened to me once, and I have to imagine that this is what happened here. Otherwise that would be the biggest eff you ever, and I would just instantly remove that guy from my board.

I've seen it happen when you're like 5th or 6th, or any number above his current list. But if you're number 1, you must've offered him before and forgotten. Makes it so you can't remove and spam for instant commits too.

happened to me before i was 3rd and 2nd i was so PO!!!

I had this happen to me last night. I was going after a HB who I was #2 on his list and only about 120 points behind. I offered the scholarship and he said I might as well save it for someone else... but then I eventually became #1 on his board. WTF?

But of course he didn't sign with me, but the "0" on the scholarship was interesting. I should have paid attention to where he went so I could schedule his haughty little a** in a couple years
