I find dynasties involving bad teams that you have to build up offers the most long-term fun. It makes all the special accomplishments (getting that first big-time recruit, cracking the polls for the first time, playing in your first bowl game, the first big upset, etc) that much more fun.

this is what i experienced with Rutgers several years ago - probably the year i enjoyed the game most!

Count me in the "Once all the real players are gone, dynasty mode becomes more enjoyable" club. It's why I prefer NCAA to Madden. I look forward to the turnover in personnel.

The OP mentioned that cpu generated players feel too "mythical" to him. Well, that's exactly what I do to keep things fresh for me. I always have a side dynasty of a completely ficticious team of family, friends, etc. that I play single seasons with. I always end up having a blast with this team even though we are as$ awful. Just mixes things up a bit, and it's fun for me.

Same, which is why I love playing at least one dynasty with a scrub team. When you finally get those couple of players that push your team into the legit category the game takes on a new dimension.

I love building a team up and having that window of opportunity to make some damage.

I've always enjoyed recruiting the most out any aspect of the game. The challenge is to get the best players I can sign to improve my team. I even gone through seasons in which I won't play any games just recruit. It doesn't matter to me if the players are real or not. The other thing I like to do is to take the classes and put them on Madden.

I think that many people enjoy that aspect of the game... Especially when you are building a team from nothing into a formidable team. But NCAA would do well to add like what the person mentioned about Head Coach, back stories to players. "Jimmy Smith sets all-south-east record for most yards gained in a season..." when talking about some player from Florida or something.

If HS accomplishments were catalogged along with player's bios, it could add a lot to the player, rather than the Tabula Rassa that we get.

This is alot of fun. I was 16 years into my online dynasy and i recruited an 87 overall quarterback with a laser rocket arm. Clearly he had to be Peyton Manning's son, Preston Manning. He threw for 200 touchdowns in his career. God I loved him.

I remember the PS2 simply giving you stats from your recruits' high school games after each week passed. Merely having stats added a lot.
