anyone else hate the icing the kicker feature

arguably the most pointless coaching move in sports. giving a physical representation for something when its impossible to know if it has any effect at all makes zero sense even for a video game. i understand its become vogue amongst idiot coaches to feel like theyre actually doing something, but i loathe the day ea decided to give this dumb crap credence.

i understand kicks are easy on default without sliders, but all kicks should have the same camera angle. i dont see the realism in simulating me being drunk(er) after a timeout is called. i would never purposely use this feature by calling a timeout, even if it would benefit me in a game, thats how strongly i feel against this corny feature.

btw i do turn it off, but of course its enabled online

I actually like it. It adds to the excitement at the end of the game. Makes me feel more pressure to win the game but Im glad it is an option for the people who dont like it.

As I mentioned in another post, I was in a big game and I was trying to make a FG for the win with a few seconds left. The CPU iced me with all their time outs. While it was happening, I was laughing to myself at the absurdity of being somehow freaked out by the computer. I did end up missing it though. It was an easy shot but by being iced it took my thoughts completely away from just making the kick. I was thinking about how crazy it was to try and be iced in the first place.

It is absolutely an a-hole move in real life but to say is has no effect on people is ludicrous. Not everyone is going to be bothered by it but some will. It is a very stressful situation to have the whole game on your shoulders and it is basic human nature to get in "a zone" to try and overcome the anxiety. Even if it does not add more stress, it can absolutely make someone get their mind out of the game like it did me.

I love it. I can see why some dislike it, but I dig it.

Offline you can turn it off. I don't see why it's a problem online unless it forces you to miss kicks you otherwise would've made.

So this is why the camera angle on some field goals is so weird? I never realized that.

I knew icing the kicker was in the game but I always just thought that it did something to the players' ratings through "composure."
