Player Rating formulas, does anyone know them?

Has anyone ever figured out exactly how EA calculates each player's overall rating? I was toying around with it tonight, and it doesn't appear as if each rating category has a simple linear relationship with the overall rating. The formulas are too complex to figure out on my own.

Has anyone ever dug down to find the ratings formulas in this or a previous version of the game?

Re: Player Rating formulas, does anyone know them?

I guess I should clarify. I'm talking about how EA calculates each player's OVR rating based on the individual ratings for, say, speed, throwing power, throwing accuracy, awareness, etc.

Is it OVR = (THP*A + THA*B)*AWR + SPD*C... etc.

It'd be helpful to get a better idea of a recruit's overall rating before he's actually on the team rather than just by going by star rating.

You should look into pocket scout then. It's a iphone app that does the calculations and can give an estimate of the players ovr.

Re: Player Rating formulas, does anyone know them?

I actually have alot of experience through simulation that i can look at a recruits ratings and figure out his overall rating within 1-2 points and usually right on depending on the player. EA recruiting rating is pretty predictable once you go through enough franchises. However this was based on last years games, the rating system is different this year but it is very similar to last years. Once you simulate enough you get a feel for the rating system, also teambuilder helps you figure out what ratings effect a player the most.
