Demand for the EA games has always been high, with or without exclusivity deals.
And the online pass is still around for the games that EA doesn't have exclusivity deals.
In fact, NCAA and Madden are the only games that applies to, right? EA is putting out a lot of other really great games, all of which I personally enjoy more than the football games.
Yeah, it's kind of annoying. But it again goes back to the costs related to EA in having to host and maintain the servers that are required for the online dynasties to operate. You guys are used to paying for the game and understand the cost associated with producing the game, so you don't mind paying the $60. But I guess you don't understand the background costs associated with a lot of the online content that EA makes available and other games don't.
That's why the example I gave above isn't really a false choice... EA has been significantly improving the things you get out of the online aspect of these games. But that's not free for them. It's not free for them to program, but most importantly, it's not free for them to host and maintain the servers that are required to be online from the time the game releases and going forward. These online passes and charging for hosting multiple dynasties, or whatever, all these things go toward maintaining the servers that are required for us to access this great content.
You don't want a game that charges for an online pass or any extra small content, then go play a game that doesn't have online content.
