How to stop the option (vs Humans)?

Any tips, tricks or ideas? I am getting ready to play someone in my online dynasty who is a BEAST with the option and I really have no clue on how to stop it

Just guessing here, but switch your gameplan back and forth between QB and RB on the option, and balance it out some too. So it keeps him guessing.

I don't know if you will find this helpful or not but here goes.

I play the option like I was taught playing college ball.

You almost treat it like a man defense.

Play a man defense and pay close attention to which LB is assigned to check the RB. Then as the QB runs right/left, control that LB and stay on the option RB and rely on your CPU controlled defenders to take the QB. If not, your CPU controlled defenders will focus on the QB leaving the pitch man unchecked.

I haven't tried it yet, but I would imagine that a QB contain defense would be effective as well.

Online I always set gameplan option to aggressive; user control a safety and play the pitch. Not the pitch man, the pitch. Intercept or whatever yod call it one of those and they'll get jittery about the pitch all game.

Set the option gameplan to Focus on Quarterback. This will make your defense converge on the QB which will force him to pitch it. More pitches = more fumbles/interceptions.

When calling zone make sure it has flat coverage.

If it is a triple option from the flex, sending a strong A and Strong C gap blitz tends to work. You have to be quick to audible it to the motion though. The motion dictates the strength call for me.

Corner Blitz's can be effective if you are manually using the corner.
