Re: What are your "House Rules"?

Player switch one time on kickoff, stay in the pocket, no user catching or intercepting unless I was the player the whole time, no exploiting plays over and over, no switching on run plays on defense, switch as many times as I want after the pass is caught on defense, play like fair play is on, I only hot route to a block from a route or to a smart route(only on rare occasions do I change a route like when I feel like myself and the WR both recognize he can beat his man deep, but thats rare for me to do).

Thats most of them. I also don't restart. I have restarted a game one time this year and that was out of frustration when the CPU had over 20 broken tackles in the 3rd quarter.

Re: What are your "House Rules"?

I am the comish of an online dynasty and try to only have rules that I can monitor. Anything that requires the "honor system" I try to stay away from for the most part except for user vs. user games.

1) User teams can only sign as many players as schollies available plus one. This keeps user teams from hogging all the best players and keeps CPU teams competitive. I also think it is cheesey to oversign and cut a bunch of players.
2) Teams cannot recruit players that are not interested in them (also prevents user teams from stealing best players).
3) Restrict depth chart modifications, such as no WRs lined up at QB, WR lined up as TE, WRs at CB, etc...

For user vs. user games I require punting in appropriate situations.

Personally, only control the DE on defense and play pretty much sim football.

How do you have fun by limiting yourself?

Some might argue, "How can you have fun if you don't limit yourself."

IMHO Haze the CPU just isn't as smart as us, the user, no matter what level you play on. If you have played more than 5 games then you have found out that you can exploit the CPU in almost every situation you find yourself in so if you don't implement "house rules". The game just gets boring. I must say the only exception to this theory is if you play with a badly rated team, but even then your ultimate goal is to recruit and make them into a powerhouse and you find you run into the same problems as if you started or played with a good to great team.

I have a ton, might as well just say read every post prior to mine and those are mine also.

Oh my goodness you're right! How on Earth can I possibly have fun by limiting myself?

Ok I'm gonna get rid of my house rules and let everything go!!!

Yes the extremely sarcastic reply was necessary. Stupid posts get these types of responses.

Get out of the thread.
