Sway Pitch - does it work?

I've been recruiting over several seasons now, and I usually try to sway pitches for which I have good grades and the recruit is not very interested. I thought this was working well, but I never really checked up on it.

Just now, however, I decided to make sure it was actually increasing the player's interest in these areas, and it appears that it is not. I just successfully changed a player's mind ("My coach keeps saying the same thing. You guys must be right") only to see the next week that his interest was still at Low, just like the week before.

Has anyone else noticed this? Maybe I need more data points to see if this is an actual problem.

I've always been curious of this.. When I sway, it works about 60 percent of the time, so I wonder if it actually raises the prospect's grade for that pitch. I just do it so often that I forget who I swayed and what pitch was swayed ha. So I can't ever go back to look and see if it worked though.

It has worked for me. I did some checking one week and after successful attempts to sway a pitch, it did rise. However it seems random as to the effect it raises the recruit's interest.

Can't say definitively, but I believe it does increase his level of interest. But it might be a double-edged sword. What I wonder is, even if it does increase his interest in a pitch, does it increase his interest for the other schools recruiting him as well?

That would suck. Me doing the work of the CPU coach and then losing the recruit because the sway pitch scored the other school more points.

i liked last year better with this. when you sway a pitch it only lasts for that phone call

I think it does alter for the other teams, so that's why you should only use it on topics for which you have a higher grade than your competitors.

I just checked a few more. It seems like it's kind of hit or miss. For a "successful" sway, sometimes the player's interest doesn't change, and sometimes it can change up to two levels or so. That is, his interest might go from Very Low to Average, or Low to Above Average.

It must work, I have used it quite a bit in my 3 seasons, and on several occasions had recruits with at least 2 Mosts, and in one particular case a recruit had 3 Mosts. I dont think that can happen without the swaying. I think the effects of the way is directly in junction with your coach prestige. The higher the prestige the more likely you are to sway, and the effects of your sway.

if you sway an "Above Average" interest, and it goes to "High", that's just an added bonus. Especially say for instance your school is and (A) or (A+) in that area. you'll then be able to recruit against another team with more power, and if you are simply pitching, you'll gain more points for that too.
