My 5 star recruit went form soft commit to hard commit elsewhere?

I had a 5 star athlete that was a soft commit to my program to a hard commit to another the next week. I am ranked #2 in the country so it cant be the programs success. I had a successful phone call the week before so I am not sure what happen. I am playing on heisman and recruiting on varsity and still having several issues. I had over 15 players sign elsewhere that had my school ranked #2 on their board and signed elsewhere to schools ranked lower than me on their board. Is recruting that volatile this year?

I'm playing on AA recruting and once my guys soft commit it is a lock they are mine. I even quick call when they soft commit because I know they won't leave. Not sure what happened to you, but that does happen IRL.

I've stolen other schools' soft commits so I assume they can steal yours too. Just spend 60 good minutes a week on the guy if anyone else is close.

You also have to see where the other top schools are. If they are really close, make sure you spend the full allotment of points. JMO

Thanks for all the tips. I did spend the maximum amount of points on this guy and had successful phone calls as well. I guess its just the real deal. Maybe FSU emptied their pockets to get the Kid. I wonder if it makes a difference as to what level you are recruiting on?

A couple of things might have happened. First of all, did the other schools have a visit scheduled for that week? A successful visit could have pushed the CPU school ahead of yours. Secondly, maybe the CPU got the x2 bonus that week. I stole a soft commit 5* recruit from Nebraska, just because I happened to get the x2 bonus at the right time.

Yes indeed. Out happens in real life. Bryce Brown is a stuff like his brother Arthur but I still think to this day how wonderful it would have been to have peterson. Imagine a secondary where the#1 and #2 CB prospects from tyre same cass were on the same team. I'm talking about peterson and brandon harris. Peterson is all SEC and Harris is all ACC.
