Need advice from a Defensive Wiz!

I just need to know what the difference is between a cover 3 press and a regular old cover 3. what exactly is being pressed in a cover 3 press? Also looking for some advice on when to slant left/right with my D-Line.

It's basically the same play but the press version has automatic bump and run coverage without you audibling to it. When to slant left/right: I usually don't bother. If you suspect they might run that way, that's the best reason. If in doubt and you just want to experiment, it's best to move it towards the wide side of the field (like if you're lined up on the left hash mark, slant right).

Re: Need advice from a Defensive Wiz!

Well, I guess i never paid that close of attention. I guess it would be kind of foolish to press on a cover 3 anyways, seeing as how the CB's dropping back to cover 1/3 a piece wouldn't be able to get deep in time. Really that's the only time i slant is when i want to stop run to the wide side of field. Thanks for the reply.
