Since you bought the game used, you have to buy online pass.

if you bought it used, it's likely the code has already been used, so it can't be used again. if that is the case, you'll have to buy the Online Pass through either the PSN or Xbox live Marketplace($10 I think)

See you would have been better off buying it new. Used game was probably what $45 without tax ? Then add the $10 for the online pass, it still would come out to what a new game would have cost.

I think it is only a matter of time before all games that have online play start doing the same thing.

If you paid 45 or more return it and by a new copy. Otherwise buy the online pass for 10 bucks.
