Best D against pass-heavy offenses?

I've been using a 4-2-5 but have been struggling against pure passing teams. Any suggestions?

dont use that one...it can be challenging to use because you have to manually position the DB's since there is only one deep safety.

With pass heavy teams I stick with the base 4-3 and with a lot of pass formations just use nickel or Dime and mix in blitzes (both zone and man).

3-2-6 Cover 2 man

Quarters Cover 3 man is also a good one.

Re: Best D against pass-heavy offenses?

If you're playing online and your not able to get pressure and just need to cover the routes, I use Quarters 3 Deep and 2 deep man. It puts the middle safety into a medium zone. I control him to take away the crossing routes, and sometimes audible my two deep safeties into hook zones as well. It leaves the deep routes in man, but a lot of times they don't recognize that until its too late, and then lob it up and let me switch to the DB and make a pick, or knock it down.

if you like to use the 4-2-5 you can still use it only in a more effective way, use a 4-3 base D and on the 4-4 split formation sub the two outside LB's for S's preferably FS's with good man coverage that way you can throw in some 4-2-5 with base 4-3 D and use some nickle and dime packages aswell.
