I've seen this happen on multiple occassions...My take on it is that the CPU gave them a scholarship offer the week that the player committed. There is no way for you to know if they did or not so I just assumed that they did and got the instant commit.

happened to me any my friends in online dynasty..week 6 to preseason week 3 this 5 * running back kept me and 2 of my friends and 6 othe teams at -1..he soft commited to alabama they hadnt offered a ship. yet either we was like what in the heck then week 4 his bar for bama droped to red but they where still number 1 the in week 5 i signed him..i was team number 2 behind bama since week 6 up to that point and watched all this teams catch up with me

In my new dynasty I had a 2* MLB commit to me in the 3rd week and I never offered him a scholarship. I was baffled, but it definitely happened. I had just played South Carolina (the state he was from) and won on a stoke of luck fumble recovery for a touchdown.

I had only even called the guy once, because after the first call I was #1 on his list. I'm fairly positive that this is the only time I've seen this happen, but I was happy as hell because I needed an MLB desperately.

I believe you can only get a soft commit without offering a scholarship.

Like I said, it's never happened before but it's definitely a hard commit. And I'm positive that I never offered him a scholarship, and all CPU assists are OFF. It sounds screwy, but much stranger things have happened.
