Offense playbooks with 6WR sets?

Only once playing NCAA11 have I seen a 6 WR set, that formation I think was a shotgun double trips with 3 WR's in the bunch on each side of the field.

Does anyone know which offensive playbooks have that 6WR set?

Mizzou's "Monster" formation I believe is what it's called.

Monster is not 6 WR's, there are 2 lineman out wide to block for the WR's on those screens.

Re: Offense playbooks with 6WR sets?

There are no legal formations with six WRs.

First, someone has to take the snap, that makes him the "quarterback." I guess you could line a WR up as a QB though...

Second, all legal formations must have seven players on the line of scrimmage. There is one player on each end of the line. The five players inside are "covered up" by the two on the ends of the line and are not eligible receivers. These are generally offensive linemen. While technically an offensive linemen doesn't HAVE to play in one of these spots, it's not an eligible receiver regardless.

So, five offensive linemen and a quarterback, that leaves only five more positions. Five wide receivers is the maximum.

Re: Offense playbooks with 6WR sets?

South Carolina's playbook has the offensive tackles spread outside like receivers so it appears that there are only three offensive lineman.

They ran the formation against me. I know SC runs it in real life on occasion but to see it in the game was pretty sweet...

Yeah, no 6 WR sets...

6 WR sets are illegal.

The S.Carolina set is called "Emory & Henry." Sounds like Mizzou's is similar.
