Off-season Improvement?

I just finished up my first season of my offline dynasty and when I got to the part where you can see the off-season progression of everyone on the team, nobody on my team seemed to have progressed at all. It said that everyone gained minimum improvement but there were no +1 or +2, things like that anywhere.

Have you installed all patches and tuners before starting the dynasty? Players progress slower at small schools. Don't except 5 point increases unless you're a 5-6* program.
