Kickoff Coin Toss - Wind Direction

Does ANYONE understand how the wind direction arrow works pre-kickoff? I always think I have it figured out, choose a side, ready to kick with 7 mph winds behind me, and it turns out they're against me.

It alternates each quarter so half the game you have it with you, half you have it against. Some people like to go against on the opening kickoff so they have the wind with them in the 2nd and 4th quarters when field goals are the most important.

Haha, I know exactly what you mean. The arrow for wind direction doesn't help when choosing which side to defend. On that screen it looks like it is blowing one way, and then when you start to kickoff the arrow is pointing a different direction.

I guess the question is, at the screen where you choose which side to defend, how do you read the wind direction arrow? Are the endzones on the left/right or what? Because it throws me for a loop every time. I just pick left automatically now, lol.

I'm asking in game, the arrow never seems to be correct.

I dunno, I always choose the top one, wind doesn't seem to matter a whole lot to me.

I can't remember exactly, but I think when the wind is shown blowing left, selecting to defend right will have you kicking with it. I am not 100% sure though. I just can't believe EA has ot fixed this yet.

Maybe they should have an actual coin toss on the field with the captains standing there with a referee and then when you select the direction you want to kick they move the captains to the correct side. Could be kind of cool with the correct kind of presentation.

Of course they'd have to be able to give some kind of an accurate wind indicator that made it obvious which way the wind was blowing.
