Sometimes old school is better.

I really liked the 4 play 4 button set up from the older NCAA's. Its quicker and more effective way to call plays than the 3 play 1 button method. I don't know why they switched. Trying to be like Madden guys its cool, now Madden is trying to be like you. lol

I agree with you 100% on this one. The old play-call screen is something I missed right away and still do.

I don't understand at all why they switched.

I can't tell you how many times I couldn't get to my play on defense because of how slow the play-calling is this year. Its so weird that they would go backwards like that.

It does seem weird that with responsiveness in the play-call screen being one of the big issues in online games, EA would go from a 3-button window to a 1-button setup. If anything, they need to be going the other direction. It's ultimately not a big complaint of mine, but it does seem counter-intuitive.

I wish we could get an explanation to why it was changed in the first place.

Re: Sometimes old school is better.

Probably like everything else they were "streamlining" the game...which in truth is an AWFUL idea. It's tolerable in CPU games-- but I literally can't get to the play I want 2-3 times in a user matchup because it slows down so much. I mean...if it ain't broke...DON'T FIX IT. Terrible call. Not to mention if you're playing someone on the same system it's a lot easier to see which play you're going to pick (yes I know you can hold the button down and throw them off...but still).

Needless to say...I also support this thread.
