Re: Question I Hope makes it To EA

That's just asking for more lawsuit's. IMO we're lucky to have the roster's that we do. It wouldn't surprise me one bit for them to eventually go to all generic rosters. Thank goodness for roster editors, though.

Use your head man...
the only person who can sue is the individual whose likeness is being borrowed . not the sche school the school owns the name mascot etc... they have a deal with the NCAA to use the logo the BCS the bowls etc...
NCAA or OSU Do not own terelle pryor if thats the case why does the cover feature an athlete that is a senior? because he has to give consent and student athletes cant be paid . Bottom line.

Madden has a licensing agreement with the nflpa every player doesnt make the game every picture isnt included.NE Coach hmmm gee i wonder who that is.All these aleeged lawsuits u speak of can u find the legal documentation or a trace of what the basis of these suits are ?

The likeness suit is no different than jerseys sold in the store. They dont put the name because STUDENT ATHLETES CANT BE PAID and USING THERE NAMES ON MERCHANDISE WOULD REQUIRE THE PLAYERS TO BE COMPENSATED AND THEIR APPROVAL...Not the likeness crap.

When all the talk of Super conferences emerged and the talk of them pulling away from ncaa what then ?If NCAA would replicate reality then do you think all of these "suits" would arise ? NO because those are NCAA rules...

U use your head. Player likeness is picture and name.Even if they dont put in stats they can still update ratings. If ratings are player likeness explain the OUT THE BOX RATINGS THEN....... seriously Yall took the question inro left field

ROSTER UPDATES FOLKS MORE TUNERS where doe likeness come in?

Or they could go class action style. (See USA Today link above.)

"NCAA or OSU Do not own terelle pryor if thats the case why does the cover feature an athlete that is a senior? because he has to give consent and student athletes cant be paid . Bottom line."
The cover features a player that has graduated, declared for the draft or otherwise exhausted NCAA eligibility. Therefore, they are no longer bound by the rules of amateurism established by the NCAA. Bottom line.

"NE Coach hmmm gee i wonder who that is."
NE Coach is not part of a union, therefore he would have to be dealt with separately and individually (unless there is a coaches union I don't know about, which would mean that EA would have to come to an agreement with them). Coaches are in the same boat as "historical" players. Check out those Madden links, you'll see. Updating rosters to reflect real life ratings would be a CLEAR example of using player likeness. It's much more than photos and names.

"When all the talk of Super conferences emerged and the talk of them pulling away from ncaa what then ?If NCAA would replicate reality then do you think all of these "suits" would arise ? NO because those are NCAA rules..."
Um, what?

"U use your head. Player likeness is picture and name.Even if they dont put in stats they can still update ratings. If ratings are player likeness explain the OUT THE BOX RATINGS THEN....... seriously Yall took the question inro left field"
likeness [ˈlaɪknɪs]n1. the condition of being alike; similarity
You can't get much more "similar" than updating ratings to reflect the skills of an athlete as he perfroms throughout a season.

so with all that u just said why dont they just use imaginary players from the get go? seriously why even start them off with osu qb#2 as a "terelle pryor" type of athlete... why not make him 5'9" 188 59 spd 99AGI 65 ACC with 70 THP and 88 THA from launch?

If reflecting ratings is based on performance is a sueable offense
why are ratings based on last years season? what is the difference with monthly updates its really none when u put it in context

Re: Question I Hope makes it To EA

I can agree to everything else you say i comprehend but ill still contend with it .NBut i do understand and acknowledge your research. But ALL RATINGS ARE BASED ON PERFORMANCE SO WHY DOES ONCE A MONTH CRY LOUDER THAN ONCE A YEAR ? I WONT BUY THAT NO JUDGE WILL EITHER

By doing stuff like updating player rating's monthly they would just be pouring fuel on a already hot fire and asking for more lawsuits. And another lawsuit equals another step closer to all generic rosters.
