Once in a lifetime recruit (amazing player progression)

Aight guys I've seen this kind of thing discussed once before, but that's it.

I have a Freshman D-Lineman that I redshirted at the beginning of the season in my OD. Because of injuries I had to take him off of redshirt and play him. Well, since I took him off redshirt (3 weeks ago) here's his progression:

Week 6: AWR +6 OVR +2
Week 7: AWR +4 OVR +1
Week 8: AWR +4 OVR +1
(He has progressed +1 in many other areas)

Anyone else ever see numbers like this? If he keeps this up he'll be my #1 D-Lineman by seasons' end. :-) We shall see...

It's a glitch.

That's what I was thinking. Something to do with removing the Redshirt mid-season maybe?

I haven't seen a recruit do that but I currently have a QB that throws 90 THP and 86 ACC with 90 speed, 97 Ag, and 94 Acc. He is a Redshirt Freshman with 90 Ovr. He is leading for the Heisman. has anyone seen a recruit better than that so early?

So those that think its a glitch... all I did was add him to the depth chart (I dont even think I've seen him take the field honestly). Are you saying that you think its impossible that theres something hidden in the game that will allow this kind of thing to happen once in every 1000 (or even 10,000) recruits or so?

And FTR its not as though the guy is insane right now. He's started at 40 awareness, and is now at 56, he was a 71 overall, and is now a 75 overall. I'd actually be glad if this was intended, simply because that would add a little bit more realism to the game (a recruit coming from outta nowhere to be a hopeful star)...

It is a glitch, it happened to me in one of the previous versions. I played a DE who I had redshirted. Not only did he miracuously KEEP his redshirt status, but he proceeding to progress at a rapid pace, much above the normal.

Yes. That's probably never going to happen in a sports video game any time soon. It's too realistic and sophisticated for a company like EA Sports to conger up. Plus, he didn't just start randomly progressing, he began to progress right after you played him, which makes the concept of '1 in a 1000' seem even less likely.

this is what im thinking. could be sort of like a diamond in the rough when you remove a redshirt mid way through a season. there is an achievement that is called "Burn that hirt" that might be something to do with that. interesting though. i may try that with one of my recruits lol

This is interesting to me. Obviously those numbers are totally unrealistic for a freshman, but I use Michigan in an OD and Denard Robinson so far is unstoppable in his junior year and I've been wondering if there are recruits created with his skill set. The created recruits listed as scrambling still only have like 80 speed, and 70 accuracy and never really progress enough in the accuracy to be a true duel threat like Denard.
