Player Size Must Matter

It seems like in past games this hasn't mattered. Differences in on-field player size can cause mismatches. This really should be introduced.

Discuss.

Agreed. I recruit giant dudes cuz they look cool but I hate when DT's come in at 5'11" 224lbs and they can just blow up huge line man.

I don't think anybody will disagree with you, and if they do, well they probably don't know what they are talking about.

I'm not saying, I'm just saying.

Re: Player Size Must Matter

It's sickening to think we have been on these "next-gen" consoles for years now and basic physics don't apply themselves in a football game. How can we have a football game without physics? You can go out and create a 415 pound linemen and he can get trucked by somebody half his weight over and over again. That doesnt make any sense.

Re: Player Size Must Matter

Length and weight two of the biggest factors on the lines and football is won and loss at the LOS. Everything else truly should be second tier importance.

Agreed. I remember watching the Rose bowl game with my bro between Wisconsin and TCU. We were fans of neither team in that game but we couldn't help but notice how Wisconsin's huge line pushed around TCU the entire game. The weight of that line mattered and physics in a football video game should matter. EA has to somehow figure this out. Just like the speed of the pistol spread offense that TCU beat up Wisconsin with. These things should matter. It would make for a better video game.

Re: Player Size Must Matter

"a better video game" isn't the goal, though. Maximizing profits is.

I doubt this is the case, but EA may be avoiding making the game too realistic, which we diehards would LOVE, but they've determined may turn off the more casual customer. (think Gran Tourismo...too realistic).

Re: Player Size Must Matter

Gran Turismo 5 is simply amazing.

F1 2010 is amazing.

MLB 11 The Show is amazing.

NFL 2K5 is amazing.

What do all of these games have in common that NCAA and Madden do not?

Simulation experience. If they are trying to not deliver a realistic game, then they are going to cut ties with a large market.
