used to play 10 min quarters but scores started getting a little high and games felt too long. But when i played bad teams i switched to 8 and now thats what i play all games at. Get low scores sometimes, realistic stats, and the game doesnt feel too short/long.

It depends on your play style too, if you run a pretty balanced offense, 7-8 minutes is pretty good, but if you run like air raid or something then shorten up the time b/c of the stopped clock with passing so much.

Re: How long do you set your quarters to?

I played around with this for a while. It came down to 8 or 9 minutes.

9 gave me the correct number of plays, but the game felt like it dragged on and depending on who you were playing against, the yardage could get really out of hand -- actually, the yardage felt like it got out of hand regardless, especially defensive snaps. The added snaps that a team got to snap against me, no matter how bad they were, allowed them to pile up the passing yards. And I'm always cognizant of where my defense ranks.

8 minutes, the pace of the game was good and the stats were more balanced out. Not as much as I'd like, but a lot better. It didn't really give me the total number of plays, but oh, well. I'm holding out for that 15 minute quarter with a 25-30 sec accelerated clock for '12.

I do 8 min quarters but initially started out with 9. The stats come out pretty decent.
