kicking game improvements?

This may have been touched on already, not sure. If it has then my apologies. A glaring and frustrating issue I had with 11 was field goals and xp's attempted by the CPU. They looked like 6 year olds trying to kick the ball if their ratings weren't up to par. I know the kicking game in college is a crapshoot but come on! When I can deliberately make the CPU miss by just taking the safety and crashing into the line while in fg block, it really takes the fun out of special teams. I know special teams needs an overhaul all together. I just hope EA has touched base on this issue where I can feel threatened by the CPU in a game tying/winning field goal or xp moment.

Re: kicking game improvements?

I would love to see blocked kicks/punts and an actual return game.

Yeah I want to see punt blocks and FGs as well. Along with the threat of the cpu returning it back for a TD.

I also would like to see the cpu do way more fake punts and FGs.

Plus I hope they stop that punting the ball way out of bounds for no reason at all.

I forgot about that! That is really annoying.

What's up Skillz?

I can't find a single Dev discussion on any game forum about Special Teams since being on Next-Gen.

Not even on EA's forum.

A Global Editor would be the easiest thing to fix this given the way we found out how their rating "Actually" work

If we were given the ability to adjust/tweak the in-game generated Fr/Juco players, this would help so much.

External visuals are more important though!!!

Yeah Kickers and Punters need to be better... I've won plenty of games when the CPU botched a simply FG or XP...

I also wish the kickers kicked the ball better... On Kickoffs the ball moves prior to the kicker making contact wtih it. It's a small thhing that bothers me.

Re: kicking game improvements?

With all of this stuff added for Defense, I have an extremely hard time believing they didn't give special teams at least a look. The difficulty with fixing special teams is the balance that goes with it. Are kicks ever blocked? Sure, but not often. So how does EA make is so blocked punts happen once or twice during a season, but at the same time make sure they don't happen 10 or 11 times? Obviously a slider for Special Teams blocking would be ideal, but as of right now I'd rather see no punts blocked then it being to easy to block.

Clearly Special Teams is in need of an overhaul that we can assume EA at least attempted to make. Its 1/3 of the game, and plays a serious role in both recruiting (when was the last time you went out of your way to find a kick returning specialist) and gameplay (I don't even think twice before punting the ball off to the opposing team).

I know it was too easy but in 09 I would not kick to a human kick returner. Everybody in my dynasty, except Texas, had a game changer back there. I've played games where I just punted everything outta bounds.
