So naturally it will come down to SEC v. SEC
No, Oregon fans are. they are delusional. 90% of them think they have done something by reaching big games and losing them. Plus they are obnoxious. Atleast SEC teams like LSU, Bama, Florida, Georgia and Auburn have done something and have a storied history

Well, throw out the mid-major conferences, so now you are only competing with the 5 other BCS conferences.

The ACC was nothing until Florida State joined in '92 and that conference was only FSU for years and years. They have done anything since expansion.

The Big East was great, until the got raided and they've been ok-good, but never really outstanding with the exception of USF's big run in '07 and Cincinnati getting close.

You act like the SEC fans are the only one to do this. Having lived in both the Southeast and Ohio... yea, Big Ten fans are just as bad if not worst. They think they are god's gift to football, but then can't explain how they went 0-5 on New Year's Day. Listening OSU and Michigan fans come with excuses as to why they always lost to the SEC until last year or why a non-bowl year is a good one is always good for a laugh. I put the Big Ten and SEC as near equals.

I put the Pac 12 and Big 12 below those 2. Maybe since the Pac has fewer bowl bids, it always seems like their is a set of haves and set of have-nots in that conference. Even Vandy has made it to a bowl recently... which isn't saying much when every one and their mother, brother, great aunt, step-sister, gets to go to a bowl game. Same with the Big 12. Kansas a few years ago and Baylor have had some success lately so it's finally not the Texas add-rest-of-name-here and Oklahoma all the time.

So yes, the SEC fans talk a lot. But why? Because they have reason to. As many championships as they've won the past dozen years and the fact they are always one of the top 2 or 3 conferences means you have rights to brag. The sports reference page for college football which uses a very basic rating (it's called simple rating for a reason) has the SEC as the #1 rated historical conference, just ahead of the Big Ten and far ahead of the Southwest, Pac 10, Big 12, etc... The Sun Belt ranks last, so you know it's legit haha.

EDIT: Someone remind me not to write long posts like this early in the morning. Tons of errors.

Going to the Rose Bowl and then following that up with a trip to the National Title is doing something. Sure they lost the Rose Bowl (though if the NCAA rules correctly that game will be vacated by OSU), but they followed that up with a trip to the National Title game where they lost on a last second field goal.

They have been improving from year to year, and like I pointed out only lost by 3 points in the National Championship Game.

My problem with the SEC elitists are not the winners, but rather the losers who piggy back those winners. The bottom feeders that like to think they are on the same level as the top SEC teams. And those who think all other conferences are garbage and cannot compete with. Some idiot called in back in 2008, predicting Matt Ryan would be the 2nd stringer at best for the Falcons and that DJ Shockley would be the starter by the end of the year, because Ryan played in the lowly ACC... Never mind the top 20 defenses he faced (on a regular basis) or the fact that the ACC had the 2nd most players drafted in the NFL over the previous 10 years (2nd to SEC), or the fact that Shockley was not an NFL QB while Ryan was, Ryan was in the ACC and therefore inferior to anyone from the SEC. Shockley wound up as the 3rd stringer, and was cut/relegated to the practice team the following year.

The 'SEC is better than everything else no matter what' attitude is what gets on my nerves. Especially the ignorance it instills in their fans, yes the SEC is a tough football conference and has the past 5 national champions, but that doesn't give you the right to ignore stats, and information about other conferences/teams.
