Totally agree with this thread. It sucks picking a school with a stud 6'5 WR, yet I can't take full advantage of him in the red zone for fade route jump balls.

Or on the other side of it, having an All American DB with a 90+ jump rating that doesn't jump at all when the opposing QB throws a 40 yard bomb.

You have to user catch and hold your position.

We shouldn't have to user catch to get a WR to jump. A lot of people, like me, never user catch. I feel it gives me an unfair advantage. The WR's in this game need to have logic and jump in the appropriate situations on their own.

Re: When are gonna get realistic Jump Balls?

a couple of things i've done which has helped the gameplay for my own style of play is set CPU catch slider under coaching options to aggressive and cpu catching to 75 and use a roster file that reduces the jump ratings so that not many players are rated a 90+ in jumping and the results i see more WR's go for the ball

in fact with the QBA slider set low forcing more throws to be off target those edits to gameplay and ratings brings out more activity/aggressivenes in the WR's going after the ball

hopefully this is something EA will allow to happen out of the box in NCAA 12 but unfortunately in NCAA 11 i had to revert to those alternatives in order to make the WR's more aggressive

Re: When are gonna get realistic Jump Balls?

WRs in NCAA just aren't aggressive. In Madden 11 on all madden difficulty WRs are very aggressive when it comes to going after the ball.

Hell RBs and QBs aren't aggressive in NCAA 11 either. QBs don't scramble and all the RBs don't seem to run with a purpose. In Madden 11 on all madden, QBs scramble often and some of them a lot. And the RBs run with a purpose.

I hope NCAA 12 borrowed Madden 11's running AI. Heck I hope they just borrowed Madden 11's AI period.

Game play wise, Madden 11 AI played way better then NCAA 11.

Fair enough. I understand you guys don't want to user catch, but man, I feel like you're missing out. Turn up the CPU D's pass defense slider and it won't feel like you have an unfair advantage.

It works great for me the way it's implemented now. I hope they keep it like this forever. It may take more user skill than in Madden, but if you have a great receiver, it makes fighting for the ball that much more rewarding.

Re: When are gonna get realistic Jump Balls?

WR's do the over the shoulder catch WAY to much and when an INT happens your guy is still in that animation why the CB is already in the air picking of the pass
