for the record...the NHL series' physics engine seems to be leaps and bounds above the football games as well.

theres a reason the NHL games prior to last year were always getting the top game award. those games were really really well done

Well, there is decidedly more player interaction in football than there is in soccer...

Re: Just watched the newest FIFA Video.....

Online play is much better on FIFA as well. I can play FIFA 11 on 11 and have fun .. .with Madden, the 3 on 3 is crap.

The gameplay for FIFA has been broken for awhile. Way too aggressive d (just like NCAA). We shall see if this is fixed (appears that way).

Good lord at the excuse makers do you guys work for EA?

Backbreaker proved RTP could work. Their AI was terrible but the player interactions looked amazing.

it's not an excuse. It's simple reasoning.

Re: Just watched the newest FIFA Video.....

I think the large issue is Madden and NCAA have very old technology still serving as the foundation for the game. They admitted the commentary tech is extremely out of date, and just now it seems Madden is fixing that. I imagine the same goes for the base game-engine. It was likely imported from the last generation of games and just tuned a tad for the new consoles. I don't think it will change until next-gen, when they are forced to basically start from scratch again (at least I hope they fix it by then).

But I agree with others that competition would be a huge boost for the consumer. Let's face it, EA has rested on its laurels before with games and there have been years with minimal improvements. I'm glad they are still trying to better their games, but if we saw some realistic and satisfactory competition from another developer, it would push EA to do more and try a little harder. It would of course also give us, the gamers, more options.
