PS3 source resoluiton is 720p -

While our PS3 game does support displaying 1080i/p, it does this by scaling from an intermediate resolution that does not preserve as much detail.* It was built this way to support old HD sets that only had 480/1080 options.

If you want the game to look it’s very best, use PS3 720p only because we render in that directly.

I just switched my TV from 1080 to 720 and it looks the exact same, maybe even slightly more pixelated.

Unfortunately, that's probably not going to be the case from how BigFan answered my question in his other thread.

The "PS3 in 1080p" thread-title jumped the gun. All my impressions, which are no kinder than anyone else's, for instance, were about 720p.

:/ eh, well playing now I noticed that the Alabam/FSU game looks significantly better on these settings than the Oregon/Texas matchup did.

Could have something to do with it being a night game but I did notice it.

Why does the 360 demo look so much better than the PS3 demo on 720p?
