Re: Service Academies

When there was a discipline rating for recruits, I always took guys who were only the highest rated in that or the next one down. Wish that was still in because I felt like that was a great house rule to have.

The way I figure it though, anybody with top 10 interest in Army, (in my roleplaying mind) has some sort of interest in serving the military and thus has interest in going to Army (or other Academies).

On the other hand, when you get to the point where you are getting multiple 4* and 5* athletes interested in Army that idea falls flat. But then again, maybe I like to think that the young men in our country have decided to do something great rather than go attempt to be overpaid clowns.

Absolutely no dreads. sorry odogg.....

Definetly have weight maximums, can only recruit players who have you in their top 3, maybe recruit only 3* or lower... maybe.

Re: Service Academies

Weight restriction are a must. IRL Navy men can't have more than 23% body fat when entering the service and 22% once they are in. Obviusly without know the recruits measurements its hard to gauge this. I would just look at the rosters and see who is the heaviest and have no one weight more than them.

It won't matter in NCAA though because weight doesn't matter yet.

Re: Service Academies

A recruit must express interest in army, navy, or af before you can recruit them.
1 * no requirements.
2 * must have an academy in the top 10 schools.
3 * must have an academy in the top 8 schools.
4 * must have an academy in the top 5 schools.
5 * must have an academy in the top 3 schools.

School prestige plays into the number of good recruits you can actively pursue. Ex: 1* school can only have 3 3* players being recruited simultaneously, plus they can only sign 3 3* players per year.
1* school cannot recruit 4 or 5 * recruits. Also limited to 3 3* recruits.
2* school cannot recruit 5* recruits. Also limited to 1 4* and 10 3* recruits.
3* school can recruit 1 5*, 3 4*, and unlimited 3* or less recruits.
4* school can recruit 3 5*, 5 4*, and unlimited 3* or less.
5* and above schools have no caps.

No one over 300 lbs. No one over 6'7".

No redshirts. Sometimes this can be difficult because if a guy gets no playing time all year, he gets auto redshirted. So you have to keep track of who needs to go after 4 years and cut them.

No juco players.

At least a B- in awareness. Though I sometimes make an exception if a guy has me in his top 3 schools or shows interest in academics.

I also have to pitch academics during on campus visits.

Re: Service Academies

Does the game account for nationwide recruiting for schools like this?

Re: Service Academies

This sounds like it could be a lot of fun, might have to try it out at Army.

I don't like the no one over 3* rule; like the one where a higher one must be on the list. It's unrealistic to say a highly rated recruit would never go the military, but it is highly unlikely.

Re: Service Academies

One of the best Online Dynasties we ever played was an Armed Forces dynasty, I chose Air Force because I love their option playbook! And quite frankly...there's not a more bad*** jersey out there than the Army Camo jerseys.

I think we only set the restriction of No Red Shirt (of course), and we HAD to use that team's playbook, which made our head-to-head matchups a grind-out blast.
