My tv has the 480hz (240hz really) but was wondering if it effect the gameplay at all....Guess I could try it on both on/off in the demo, but was wondering if it was a proven fact either way.

I always have it on set to high cause I like the way it looks in the cutscense and replays but I notice that the gameplay feels jittery at times.....could that just be the game itself?

(off topic: wonder if it effects 1st person shooters aswell)
Unless you want to lose split second reaction times then leave it off for gaming

Game mode is all you need

Technically, you should disable it, though console is only sending out a maximum of 60 frames per second - having your tv interpolate and trying to double this equation to me is not optimal. REALLY - the best Screen is a damn good PC monitor or a true 720p HDTV screen (95% of 360 and PS3 games are 720p) this way you have no interpolation or upscaling - never a good thing. True 1 x 1 pixel ratio/matching is optimal.

What model do you have. On my 46", just hit menu button (on remote) scroll down until you see a picture of "gears" scroll right, go down to "General" and in that "General" section there is an option to turn on/off game mode.

Here are my settings for NCAA. I play on the PS3, this is for a 46" Samsung 1080p 120hz. (SQ 01 Panel) Really basic.

Game Mode
Standard
Backlight 8
Contrast 95
Brightness 45
Sharpness 37
Color 52
Tint G50/R50
All of the "ECO" Solutions off

Under Advanced Settings
Black Tone - Off
Dynamic Contrast - Off
Shadow Detail - 0
Gamma - 0
Color Space - Native
Flesh Tone - 0
Edge Enhancement - Off

Under Picture Options
Color Tone - Warm 2
Size - Screen Fit
Digital Noise Filter - Off
MPEG Noise Filter - Off
HDMI Black Level - Normal

This won't be for everyone, but since it is being talked about, I thought I would share mine.

Anyone else with a Samsung LCD, try it and see what you think. There really isn't to much in the way of calibration. I have alot more for my "Movie" mode when I watch tv.

Plasmas are prone to burn in from 360 games and with the broadcast cam, I will be watching a lot of CPU vs CPU games this year.

All it would take is for a game to end with me passed out on the couch... I don't even want to think about it.

What does that mean...overscans?
I bought my 58" Samsung around this time last year. How can I activate the screen burn protection on my set?
