bring a rival into your conference = extra conference game?

did i do something wrong or is this simply the way it is?

i brought ND into the big10, and started a dynasty with Michigan... sure enough ND is locked into the schedule at the top (as a non-conference rival) and then I have my 8 conference games, giving me a total of 9 conference games (when i tried to select it, even though it was locked, it told me i couldn't reschedule a locked conference game)

simming through to see if this is still the case in year 2 (also i just want to see the coaching carousel hahahaha)

i have protected rivalries on, according to what i read i was expecting 8 conf games...

however at the end of the season i simmed it turned out that all big ten teams had 9 conference games with a 14 team league (brought in mizzou as well)

so maybe the info i had from earlier was wrong?

If all the Big Ten teams had 9 conference games, it's probably the result of having 14 teams in the conference.

Yup. 6 Conference games plus 3 rotating games. Less than 3 that rotate if you have protected rivalries on. Those are scheduled every single year. Allowing you to only play 1 or 2 different opponents from the other half of the conference.

maybe this will need to be its own thread or placed somewhere else, but i'm one of those guys who has obsessed for the last month with how to set up his custom conference dynasty, so yeah i had 12 teams in 8 conferences, 2 conferences of 8, 1 of 7 and my lone independent, so it wasn't having 14 in the conference

i started a tulsa dynasty yesterday, no problem with the schedule

HOWEVER today with the community rosters i went to go set up a new tulsa dynasty, with the EXACT SAME CONFERENCE SET UP and now I have 9 conference games in my 12-team conference? WTF? methinks something is wonky with the scheduling when custom conferences are at work

Sure you didn't forget protected rivals? Turning them off in a 12-team conference = 9 games.
