Worse this year. You have to bring down the sounds on the field, max out the crowd, lower the stadium play by play and reduce the commentary plus crank up your surround sound really high. Even then, the crowd still sucks!

Correct, it is like the crowd was recorded a mile away.

It's just a poor effort by the devs on the atmosphere. It's college football! It should be deafening when playing at OSU, Michigan, Florida, Alabama, Auburn, etc etc. It seriously sounds like I'm watching a high school football game. Extremely disappointing.

I'd say better than last year, actually. The sound sounds fine coming from my TV. I don't even have speakers.

Re: Can the crowd noise be adjusted(increased) via a tuner set?

Through TV speakers, the crowd is soft and barely noticeable. With surround sound it can pretty good at times, the trick is to have your rear speakers volume up, you can really hear the crowd that way. There have been times where I couldn't hear anything but the crowd roaring, and there have been times I could hear a pin drop when the place should be going nuts. The audio is better than last years, but only by a little, not nearly improved enough for it to be touted as a feature.

Whoever is in charge of this needs to really get it together, or maybe there needs to be a change. If I remember right, the crowd Audio was way better even in 08, cause I remember going from playing 08 to 10(skipped 09) and it was one of the first things that stood out as noticeably worse. Sound is a huge aspect of video games, and it's clearly being neglected.

More like outside the stadium...maybe they couldn't get tickets. I remember where they said they recorded sounds of three different stadium settings of 3 levels of crowd size or stadium size.

Re: Can the crowd noise be adjusted(increased) via a tuner set?

I think the audio's pretty rad. Granted I've been BLASTING my surround sound to get the desired effect, but with crowd and PA at 100, in-game sounds at 65, and my custom sounds at 10 (lol), I think it sounds pretty awesome most of the time. *shrug*

Tried to make a recording to share with you guys, but the mic on my macbook is garbage. Doesn't translate at all.

Couldn't agree with this^^^ post more. Not only is the crowd noise hit or miss, there is no kind of excitement in the stands during big plays. I remember last years' game, the crowd would at least get up out of their seats when a team scored a touchdown.

Edit: Look at the crowd in this NCAA 11 vid. They're clearly jumping up and down in the background
